Dr. Jinru Shia, MD

Dr. Jinru Shia is a distinguished pathologist and the Director of Gastrointestinal Pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She also serves as a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Shia specializes in diagnosing complex cancers of the digestive tract and liver using advanced microscopic and molecular techniques. She earned her medical degree from Hunan Medical University in 1983, completed her residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, and pursued an oncologic pathology fellowship at MSK. A prolific researcher, she has authored more than 330 publications and has been repeatedly recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor.
