Dr. Klaus J. Busam is a world-renowned pathologist and the Director of the Dermatopathology Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He also serves as a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and leads the combined MSK/Cornell Dermatopathology Training Program. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Busam is an international authority on complex melanocytic neoplasms and is frequently sought for second opinions worldwide. He earned his medical degree from the University of Freiburg in Germany and completed his residency and fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Board-certified in Anatomic Pathology and Dermatopathology, he has authored over 250 peer-reviewed articles and several foundational textbooks in his field.
